Dental Fillings

For fillings, we use a laser to remove decay and ozone gas to disinfect. We then fill the preparation with a fluoride-free, BPA-free ceramic composite material.

We use Admira Fusion BPA-free, Fluoride-free ceramic composite for our fillings. BPA is an endocrine-disrupting chemical. Under normal circumstances, your body can clear BPA pretty well. The bad news is that we’re each exposed to so much of it every day that we may not be able to clear it so efficiently.

We use a laser to remove decay and disinfect the treated tooth but may have to use a drill for the soft decay removal. The benefits of lasers are that they are less invasive, combat infection, reduce anxiety, reduce discomfort, and accelerate healing. As an additional step, we use ozone gas to further disinfect the treated area.

We use ONSET to buffer our anesthesia to 7.4 pH outside the body, which makes the anesthesia work faster and more predictable. Non-buffered anesthesia has a 3.5 pH, and the body must raise the pH of the anesthetic towards physiologic 7.4 for it to work effectively. In some patients, this takes time, and in others, it might not be as effective as needed.

Hello, I am Dr Alexis Brown. I do restorative dentistry at Family Holistic Dentistry.

When I see you for fillings or crowns, at the beginning of the appointment, you will be allowed to ask questions and have any concerns truly listened to and addressed. We will ensure your dental treatment is as relaxing and comfortable as possible. From start to finish, all fillings and crowns will be completed by me, the dentist, not a dental assistant. We will use state-of-the-art dental technology, equipment, and premium materials to ensure you have the best care available.

About Dr. Brown

Dr. Alexis Brown graduated from Baylor University Dental School and has been using Fotona lasers for the last three years in her cavity preparations.

We offer Alpha-Stim to help our patients relax. This small device attaches to the earlobes and creates tiny pulses of electricity that cause different reactions in the brain. This helps stimulate the underactive parts of the brain while calming the more overactive parts.

We offer a neck pillow and block noises headphones with relaxing music or whatever kind of music you like.

We schedule sufficient time so the dentist can complete the procedure without being rushed.

My experience with Dr. Brown was stellar. Her staff is very friendly and thorough. I traveled 4 1/2 hours to have them remove the amalgam(mercury) and I was very pleased with her efficiency. I will need more work on some other teeth and I am confident they will give me good options to choose from.

Buffered Anesthesia.

Our ONSET is at the chairside, raising the pH of our anesthetic immediately before the injection. This allows our patients more comfort and strong anesthesia(numbness) and lowers the wait time for the planned procedure.

Decay removal with laser.

Dental lasers provide a precise and efficient method for removing tooth decay, preserving more natural tooth structure than traditional drills. This technology often reduces the need for anesthesia, making the filling process quicker and more comfortable for patients.

The doctors and staff here are the best I’ve ever seen. I’ve had multiple crowns and fillings so far, and I am so happy with their work. They don’t hesitate to put you at ease and comfortable. I am so happy to have their help in repairing my past dental work and I plan on taking my whole family to them from now on.
